1. What is VRE PTO? VRE PTO, or Valley Ranch Elementary Parents Teachers Organization, is a nonprofit group comprised of parents, teachers, and school staff dedicated to enhancing the educational experience at Valley Ranch Elementary School.

 

2. What activities does the PTO organize? We manage events such as community nights, teacher appreciation, yearbook sales, school supply sales, spirit shirt designs, and many more.

 

3. Who is eligible to join the PTO? Any parent/guardian of a current VRE student, as well as school teachers and staff, are welcome to join the PTO.

 

4. Is PTO only for stay-at-home parents? Absolutely not! Everyone is welcome, whether you're a stay-at-home parent or working part/full-time. We strive to find roles that accommodate everyone's schedule and talents.

 

5. How do I become a member? Simply fill out the membership form (available online too) and pay the annual dues of $10 per family. This covers all children in your household. Remember, it's never too late to join!

 

6. What are the benefits of PTO membership? Membership allows you to vote on PTO matters (one vote per household), volunteer at our events, and more. While volunteering isn't mandatory, your membership helps fund programs that enhance our students' education.

 

7. How can I become a room parent? Visit the Room Parent page and communicate with your child's teacher.

 

8. Which programs does the PTO support? We support and fund various programs including:

  • Leader in Me Program
  • Science Fair
  • Outdoor learning spaces
  • Back to School Breakfast for Kinder parents
  • Teacher luncheons
  • Box Tops for Education ... and many more! The PTO enriches your child’s education in numerous ways.

9. Why attend PTO Meetings? Attending PTO meetings allows you to:

  • Engage in your child’s education.
  • Understand and influence school activities.
  • Collaborate with other parents and educators.
  • Emphasize the value of education to your child. Studies show that active parental involvement correlates with better student performance.

10. How can I contribute? There are various ways to help. From financial contributions to volunteering, your involvement is crucial. Contact the PTO office or any officer to find the best fit for you.

 

11. How is PTO's budget managed? Each year, the president proposes a budget which members vote on. Our aim is to raise funds to meet the school's wishlist. All money raised is reinvested to benefit our students.

 

12. I can't afford PTO fundraisers. Can I still participate? Absolutely. If your child is on a reduced or free lunch program, we'll ensure you can attend PTO events free of charge. Just reach out to the school counselor for more details. Your participation is highly valued.
